2009 Annual Conference for the New Mexico Public Health Association, featuring tracks in Health Equity, Translating Research into Policy, Communities & Collaboration, Innovative Models of Practice, and Youth/Early Intervention. Dr. Anthony Iton, Director/Health Officer for the Alameda County Public Health Department is the keynote speaker addressing Transforming Public Health Practice to Achieve Health Equity. A special musical skit presented by NMPHA staff and members, Public Health: Now More Than Ever (The Musical), was written specifically for this conference to engage participants in thinking about moving their public health practice upstream to address the inequities that are the root causes of health disparities.
